Antarctica is one of our last frontiers, a vast and still insufficiently explored continent, which contains information about the geological history of the ancient supercontinent of Godwana and is considered a natural laboratory for modern scientific experiments, which prohibited military installations and nuclear explosions.

The Chilean Antarctic Territory, or Antártica Chilena, corresponds to all lands, islands, islets, reefs and glaciers, together with the respective territorial waters, located between the meridian 53 ° W and 90 ° W and between latitudes 61 ° S and 90 ° S (South Pole), reaching an approximate area of 1,250,000 km2
Here, the species that inhabit able to withstand the extreme temperatures and conditions on the planet.
Despite the thick ice that covers almost 99 percent of the continent and strong winds that blow the coastal zone, poultry, fish, penguins, sea lions, whales and some forms of plant life have adapted surprisingly, focusing primarily
in the coastal area to face the danger of freezing.
Its flora is composed of small lichens, mosses, algae, fungi and bacteria.

Despite such adverse conditions, Antarctica has rich animal kingdom that is worth knowing and protect.
