This zone is in the middle of the
largest and narrowest country of the world.
The area has a favorable weather;
from the fifth to the eighth region there is a
mediterranean and moderate weather in the coast,
meanwhile in the Andes there is a cold height weather
with solid rains.
Also, the region has fertile valleys with many
grapevine cultives.
The wine journey is one of the
region attractions; you will find the vineyards in the
Aconcagua, Colchagua, Curico, Maule, Casablanca and
Cachapoal Valleys, with high quality wines known all
over the world.
In the other hand, the Chilean central region has the
native cowboy tradition. You'll find activities like
the rodeo, and the grape harvest in the fields with a
native gastronomy.
Also, there are places in which
you can enjoy the sports like trekking and horseback
ridings, aquatic activities and sport adventure.
La Parva, Valle Nevado, El Colorado, Lagunillas and
Chapa Verde Ski centers are another attraction of the
region with a great infrastructure. You can also enjoy
the beaches like Pichilemu, Constitución, Reñaca,
Maitencillo, Rocas de Santo Domingo, Algarrobo and the
Panimavida, Quinamavida and Cauquenes springs.
The zone holds important urban centers like Santiago –
country's capital -, Valparaiso, Viña del Mar,
Rancagua and Talca, with a great cultural and
historical patrimony.
Beside, the region has a colorful native flora and
fauna. There are protected areas to preserve the
natural conditions and the geographical and
hydrographical resources.
Some of them are the Radal Siete Tazas, Altos de
Lircay, Peñuelas, El Yali, Clarillo River and Cipreses
River National Reserves, the La Campana National Park
and the Cascada de las Animas Nature Sanctuary.
