Day 1: Arica
- Putre
The tour starts at
10:30 am. Visit of the agrarian market of Arica,
getting to know the typical market atmosphere. In the Azapa–Valley
we will observe the Geoglyph La Tropilla,
visit the Archeological Museum San Miguel and, crossing
towards the Lluta–Valley , enjoy the view over both
valleys. Lunch at the ecological community Ecotruly. Appreciate the candelabra
cactus and the magnetic zone and get to know
the pre-Inca fortress of Copaquilla. One hour walking-tour
to the traditional village Socoroma and little break
with coffee and cookies. We arrive at Putre at 6:30 pm
approximately. Accommodation.
Day 2: Putre - Lauca - Parinacota
Departure from the lodging in Putre at 08:30 a.m. We will have breakfast in Putre or in the Thermal baths of Jurasi with bathrooms in this place. We will continue later toward the Bofedal of the Caves where we will make a walk of 40
minutes. In the road we will see wild vicuñas, vizcachas and we will know bofedales, base of the ecosystem in the highland (Mirador Bofedal of Parinacota). we will Be able to admire a great variety of birds like the pitios of the north, guallatas, taguas, among others. We will admire the
Chungara Lake , the Cotacotani Lagoons where we will make a walk of approximately 3 hours (optional). we will Make the picnic - I eat lunch in the town of Parinacota, we will travel the town. Lodging at home of Leonel Teran (basic).
Arrival at Arica around 08:00 pm.
Day 3: Parinacota - Surire - Isluga - Colchane
Breakfast in Parinacota (4392 msnm). Departure from Parinacota to the 08:30
am, visiting Ancuta and Guallatire later on, two populated altiplanicos on 4000 meters of altitude to the feet of the active
Guallatire Volcano. Ending up when Salting from Surire to the 12:00 PM. aprox. We will visit Chilcaya making a walk of one hour aprox., to photograph the flora and fauna in this National Monument; then we will go to the Thermal baths of Polloquere (4270 MSN), picnic and bathrooms in this place.
Departure bound for Mulluri - Mirador of Arabilla, Enquelga. We will visit the
Isluga Volcano National Park, where we will know their Church and bofedales abundance, arriving to Colchane to the 19:00hrs aprox.

Day 4: Colchane - Cariquima - Huara -
Pica
Breakfast to the 08:00 am. We will visit the giant cactus of Big River and then we will arrive at the town of Cariquima, famous for their skillful handmade weavers from centuries, we will lower toward the gulch of the Happiness and we will stop in Victoria's Mirador with a beautiful view of canyons and volcanic
rocks. We will visit next in the Miradors of Chusmiza and Pachica, this I finish on the edge of the Desert of Atacama. Then we continue in the Hill Fingernails to observe the Geoglifo but big of the area The Giant of Atacama". we will Eat lunch in Huara and then we will visit the saltpeter deposits of Humberstone and Santa Laura, arriving to the Town of
Pica to the 19:00 hrs. aprox.
Day 5: Pica - Geoglifos de
Colorado - Quillagua - San Pedro or Calama
From Pica (1325 MSN), after our breakfast, we will walk toward the Cocha of Resbaladero, one of the many tunnels used to extract water in the
deserte of Atacama. These waters are semi-thermal and people of the place say that
it possesses medicinal properties. After this relaxing bathroom we will leave Pica to visit the geoglifos of
Colorado that contain 400 figures approximately in 66 panels that men, animals, birds and abstract drawings represent. We will leave from this place crossing the Reservation National Pampas of the Tamarugal to arrive later to the small one I populate Quillagua, oasis next to the river Lauds with cultivations and a town, where it stakes a church and the railroad station. Customs of Quillagua. We will cross the desert until to arrive to Calama or to continue to San Pedro.
