Expedition Cruise Option 1
“In search of Whales of the Strait of Magellan”
(2,5 Days - 2 Nights)

DAY 1: Punta Arenas - Isla Carlos III - Seno Ballena

Between 17:00 and 17:30 hrs will be collected from passengers from differents hotels in Punta Arenas to go then to Isla Riesco in the Commune of Rio Verde from where we will begin our  navigation. After passing through interesting landscapes with  large numbers of farms, crossing to the island, and after about 2 hours traveling to get where they sort through Zodiac boats climb aboard the Forrest awaits us in a protected bay.

Once on board, and arranged in the respective cabins will be serve a Pisco Sour while welcoming the Forrest salil the Seno Otway bound for the Strait of Magellan. It was subsequently serve dinner and then a briefing.

DAY 2: Carlos III - Seno Ballena - Brazo Nuñez

After sailing all night, at approximately 06:00 AM Forrest anchor inside the Seno Ballena in Isle Santa Inés. After breakfast, at 09:00 will begin the excursions in the boats to the foot of the Glacier Santa Ines, in whose area will be conducting various activities to about half a day when the board again for lunch. If weather conditions are favorable lunch will be offered on land. On the return trip to the ship can see colonies of sea lions and elephants.

Once on board will begin shipping toward the island Carlos III and Islet Rupert, an area filled with wildlife and to travel throughout the afternoon. Among the mammalian species have a spot wolves, dolphins and whales, among birds appreciate penguins, cormorants, albatrosses, petrels, among others. After occupying the whole day to saliling the area we go to a bay to anchor overnight and this second night on board.

DAY 3: Isla Carlos III - Isla Riesco - Punta Arenas

Early in the morning departure to start the journey back to our starting point. Navigate the waters of the Strait of Magellan and then enter the Canal Jerónimo which is surrounded by spectacular scenary leads to Seno Otway. While sail can see many times more copies of the fauna described. Nearly halfday stop at a picturesque Caleta Toro in which we will have our farewell lunch. Later on until our point of landing where the vehicles that will take us back to Punta Arenas

Expedition Cruise Option 2
“In search of Whales of the Strait of Magellan”
(3 Days - 2 Nights)

DAY 1: Punta Arenas - Isla Carlos III

Between 07:00 and 07:30 hrs will be collected from passengers at the various hotels in Punta Arenas to go then to Isla Riesco in the Commune of Rio Verde from where we will begin our navigation. After passing through interesting landscapes with large numbers of farms, crossing to the island, and after about 2 hours traveling to get where they sort through Zodiac boats climb aboard the Forrest awaits us in a protected bay.

Once on board, and arranged in the respective cabins will be served breakfast while Forrest browse the Seno Otway bound for the Strait of Magellan. After about 2 hours browsing¡ enter Caleta Toro, a beautiful place completely surrounded by thick vegetation and which will enjoy lunch and if time allows making a brief landing.

Later we restart the navigation by Canal Jerónimo that offered to us in their coasts large waterfalls in the middle of green forest. As we approach the strait begins to make visible the diverse wildlife that inhabits these territories, especially the abundant presence of sea lions, dolphins and birds such as penguins, albatrosses and petrels.

Already in the waters of the Strait and around the island Carlos III, center Francisco Coloane Marine Park will be able to appreciate how far the emergence of the earliest whales that inhabit the area. Late in the afternoon at anchor in one of the bays of the island to stay on this first night of issue. After dinner we will have an informative talk.

DAY 2: Carlos III - Seno Ballena - Brazo Nuñez

Early on Forrest sail toward the Seno Ballena in Isle Santa Inés. Expedition Cruise
“To the Corners of Skyring Sound”
(3 Days - 2 Nights)

DAY 1: Punta Arenas - Estero La Pera

Between 07:00 and 07:30 hrs. will be collected the passengers from different hotels ofn Punta Arenas to go then the Commune of Rio Verde, specifically to the socalled Rebolledo Bay in the northern riverfront Seno Skyring, where they will board the M/N FORREST to start our Cruise Expedition.

Once on board and then distributed to the respective cabinets will enjoy breakfast while browsing the Forrest in demand for the island Escarpada where they arrived around noon. Once in her sail at the foot of the cliffs that characterize the south coast on deck while enjoying a traditional Pisco Sour and after a tasty lunch.

Subsequently the vessel cascaded toward Ensenada Rys located on the isthmus Chinchorro, a place where buildi are located some of the pioneering era of livestock in these confines. After a short stop we will head towards the other side of the peninsula to enter into the Estero La Pera, at the end of which funds to embark on the boats which will begin with an expedition to the interior of Rio Azócar, beautiful course water that is gaining ground in the middle of a dense forest of varied vegetation. DAY 2: Estero La Pera - Canal Gajardo

Early and at breakfast, the ship sets sail towards the so-called Puerto Engaño in Seno Skyring and far reaching the entrance to the Estero Excelsior. While browsing among a large number of islands in the area, we can see an extraordinary landscape of beautiful mountains and densely populated coast with a dense vegetation. It will not be difficult to find a particular marine fauna characterized especially in the presence of dolphins, otters and sea lions.

After boarding the boats and after a short navigation, which leads us to the bottom of Estero disembark to start a short trek in the jungle to reach the shores of the lake Muñoz Gamero, using the same trail used by Indians Alacalufes or Kaweshkar in tense times for their shipments to the north of the province. Back to the ship, a roofer lunch awaits us while Forrest began its navigation Skyring crossing the course of the Estero Ventisqueros. While we enjoyed the dinner, the boat will go Riding the waters in the midst of an overwhelming landscape of mountains, forests and waterfalls until anchoring in safe place such as Puerto Bahamondes to spend our second night in these lonely latitudes.

DAY 3: Canal Gajardo – Punta Arenas

After breakfast we will board our boats and begin a navigation through the narrow passage of the channel. According to the time we can enjoy the spectacle offered by the large number of icebergs that accumulate in the area. Crossing this after a bend and see the imposing presence of Glaciar Rengo, also part of the Gran Campo Nevado. After enjoying the view that we are given from the boats, landed on a nearby coast in order to make a short walk into a completely wild scenery of singular beauty. Nearly half a day will return to Forrest to start browsing back into our point of departure. While browsing enjoy a tasty lunch.

After crossing again Seno Skyring the course is set towards the so-called Punta Laura disembark at whose expense. After walking a few meters amid a thick vegetation Canelos, Cohigües and cypress which along with ferns, mosses and lichens, form a unique landscape and overwhelming, we arrive at the sources natural hot springs of the place, there can even enjoy a brief bath before returning to our ship. And it will begin the last leg of this trip until you reach the point of disembarkation to make vehicles that will take us back to the city of Punta Arenas.

EXPEDICION FITZ ROY...
"TO THE GLACIERS OF D’AGOSTINI SOUND"

(3 days)

DAY 1 : Punta Arenas - Fuerte Bulnes - D'Agostini

07:00 Departure from the city of Punta Arenas destination south of the city of Punta Arenas. After a brief visit to Fort Bulnes Monument we will go to the bay where we expect the Forrest to start our journey to the Southwest of the island of Tierra del Fuego. Navigating through the Straits of Magellan due south Forrest journey starts Magdalena Canal which enters the Breast D'Agostini, our cruise destination. After about 9 hours browsing the Forrest leaves to enter the Canal Magdalena Fjord Kayaks which leads to D'Agostini Breast access. From the ship to our left we see the silhouette of Mount Sarmiento, one of the highest in the National Park.
Once inside the D'Agostini begin to appreciate each of the 13 glaciers flowing from the snowy mountains, and among which the Eagle Glacier, Serrano and D'Agostini. At about 23:00 hrs. anchor in a sheltered cove to spend the night

DAY 2 : Seno D'Agostini

Stay all day visiting these beautiful places where we do some landings in places particularly attractive. After enjoying the scenic wonders that nature offers us, spend the night in the area.

DAY 3 : D'Agostini - Punta Arenas

At about 06:00 hrs on FORREST anchors shall levy on the way back to our point of disembarkation to continue after the city of Punta Arenas where you will arrive at approximately 19:00 hrs

FAQ

1. What clothes should carry?
The weather in Patagonia is sometimes unpredictable and variable. The heating of the vessel allows the use of lightweight clothing, however it is advisable to wear for outdoor trips and excursions, warm clothes, parka, hat, gloves and above all, a good shoe suitable for moisture, the use of boots or other waterproof footwear is required on landings on land and often wet with rain.
Taken on board are provided but these require a waterproof warm coat inside.

When and where is the shipment?
Passengers are picked up at your hotel at the time set for each cruise, which expressly reconfirm the day before, and taken overland to the place of shipment to each of them. The land transfer will last approximately 2 hours and crosses interesting places of the Patagonia.

What we see during the cruise?
Each of the scheduled cruise has different characteristics. In "Search of the Magellan Strait Whale" is major component of wildlife, especially birds and mammals (albatross, cormorants, penguins, dolphins, sea lions, elephant seals and of course, whales) embedded in beautiful mountain landscapes, channels, fjords and glaciers in the middle of the thick jungle vegetation south. A corner of Seno Skyring has a higher component of landscapes, forests, glaciers, vegetation, ethnic and historical, also with the presence of fauna such as cormorants, sea lions and dolphins. His excursions penetrate more intensively in the dense jungle southern Patagonia.

What will the weather?
The weather can be very variable at any time of year and even during the day, especially regarding the presence of wind and rainfall occurrence. May be normal for a cruise with the 4 seasons, but even with "bad" weather the landscape takes on a special charm. For temperatures between the months of September and March temperatures fluctuate between 5 and 15 º C (41 and 59 ° F). Between April and August, temperatures drop to around 0 ° with a higher frequency of days without wind.

We regret pets are not allowed on board

Is there insurance?
Each passenger has a Travel Assistance Insurance specially oriented to solve medical expenses and medical evacuation. Also Transaustral Maritime Ltd has a liability insurance to meet any damages and losses that passengers may experience during your stay on board. This responsibility is governed by what is stated in the Passage Contract and Standards of the Third Book of the Commercial Code of Chile.

What is the official language?
The official language is Spanish, however you can find English-speaking crew. The guide of the expedition is bilingual (English-Castilian).

Is there first aid services?
Our on board staff trained to provide first aid care for passengers if required.

Is there a hair dryer?
For security reasons there is no hairdryer in each bathroom, but this can be applied to the crew for use in the cabin.

12.
Can I smoke on board?
It is only allowed outside on the decks of the ship. Inside it is forbidden according to Chilean Law No. 20,105 that does not allow it in enclosed spaces within the ship.

13.
Are there additional costs?
There are no additional costs for the services delivered on board. Recommend considering only the tips to the crew for their services.

Is there Internet access on board?
We do not have Internet service on board
